I saw that before she deleted the artist’s comment. Apparently, she wanted to advocate for a more accurate/detailed teaching of the slave trade in America…all while being EXTREMELY  INACCURATE about the slave trade.

And while I’m raging at that piece, as well, and don’t get me wrong, it’s immensely offensive…at the moment, raging more at this piece:

This is Africa before she was colonized in the 1800’s. She has a cat like the other nations…just bigger.

Not only is this piece extremely historically inaccurate and culturally inaccurate, but it perpetuates the extremely-racist, ethnocentric view of the “African savage” that has allowed for other nations to mostly ignore issues in many African nations.

If she were to really be an accurate portrayal of some pre-colonial African nations, she should be wearing something similar to the clothing of extremely-isolated tribes or the traditional garb of some African nations.

Not…whatever this inaccurate shit is.

In short:

Sigh.

So I’m tired of saying my OC’s shouldn’t be in Hetalia because they’re not nations. I’m also tired of people calling them offensives or racist because they’re not. And I’m tired of having to hide comments and hide my work because someone looks at it badly.

So here’s the rules:

I’m not taking down anymore art

I’m not listening to anyone who doesn’t like my art

If you keep pestering me about my OC’s or how I make them, you will be blocked. Period.

Ooh, boy.

Alright. So, while the Asia OC has been changed (slightly…and it’s definitely NOT  any less offensive) the Africa OC still looks the same, and she barely represents the status of women in most African nations by any means. And her idea that we have “no right to judge” really is moot, considering that everyone has the freedom to judge whoever they want, because you can’t restrict thought.

But, let’s dissect her author’s comment, line-by-line, shall we?

So I’m tired of saying my OC’s shouldn’t be in Hetalia because they’re not nations.

Well, they shouldn’t be. Hetalia isNOT  about the geographic boundaries being personified, it is about the actual nations and cultures being personified.

Because, as I have said before, if it was, it would be called Axis Powers: Geography.

I’m also tired of people calling them offensives or racist because they’re not.

Perhaps not to you, OC creator, but that’s like saying that Abigail Half-Breed didn’t think that her OC was racist. It still was, and you can’t be selfish and think only of yourself when making OCs, especially for Hetalia. You have to think about accurately and respectfully representing the cultures you have chosen to personify, which, OC creator, you have not done.

And I’m tired of having to hide comments and hide my work because someone looks at it badly.

No, your WORK is what makes your work look bad, not the comments of people trying to help you.

So here’s the rules:

Which is putting you at an enormous disadvantage as far as growth goes, and just shows that you do NOT  care about the cultures that you are personifying, and you are more about making an OC than doing something even slightly RESPECTFUL,   nonetheless  ACCURATE.

If you keep pestering me about my OC’s or how I make them, you will be blocked. Period.

I don’t think saying “hope you enjoy!” does you any good, OC creator, considering that you pretty much just threatened any potential viewers with that rules list and comment. Of course, considering the piece, you have already done that.

May I once again say that you cannot personify an entire continent because of the cultures within it. Looking at this girl’s gallery, she seems to be an advocate for spreading Africa history and culture and helping educating people about that.

However, when you make an OC that lumps an entire vast, distinct continent into one OC, despite the historical and cultural splits, you are working against what you were originally trying to do.

Especially since it’s Africa and Asia. Africa and Asia areHUGE, and in that hugeness, there are so many different cultures. Egyptian culture is not Nigerian culture. Japanese culture is not Chinese culture.

And these OCs should NOT be existent, nonetheless shoved into Hetalia.

Well, frig.

It turns out my cousin’s dog has fleas.

And I’ve been snuggling with them for the past few days.

I guess I’m going to have to flea-bomb the house now…it’s going to be lot of hard work, but hopefully, it’ll get rid of them.
